Everything made with refined sugar, confectionery, chocolate or sweets made with tea or coffee are very harmful, especially the latter that have “theobromine” and alter their nervous and circulatory system.
Dogs cannot eat sweets and sugars because their digestive system is different, they do not have the necessary enzymes for their digestion and their intestines are shorter, this means that they cannot metabolize the sugars quickly so the sugar accumulates in their body and alters the blood and circulatory system causing the dog to have an excess of energy.
In addition, it causes:
- Obesity, overweight and diabetes
- Damage to teeth
- Pancreatitis due to excess sugar that the pancreas has to eliminate through metabolism.
- Alteration of the nervous system
In small or large quantities it can cause poisoning and death of your dog.
BE CAREFUL! And go to your veterinarian if you notice your dog eating a sweet.
