Want to take your dog to the beach?

Many dogs love to run and play in the water, but be careful with the heat and the sun. Each breed has a different resistance to high temperatures, take into account the size, coat, age and energy of the dog.

That is why our team of veterinarians GESPETFOOD helps you to prepare that dream trip.

  1. Before leaving, don’t forget to bring: the animal’s papers, its water and water bowl, also some reward to reinforce its good behavior and, if you are going to be out all day, maybe you should also bring its food and food bowl.
  2. Bring toys that are ideal for the place, that float in the water or are big enough so that they do not get buried in the sand.
  3. It is essential to have bags to collect their needs.
  4. Check and dry it very well when you return home to avoid any wound, erosion or disease.
  5. To protect him from the sun, a sunscreen is recommended and if he has delicate paws, a pad protector is also recommended.
  6. Remember to always have a shady place for when he wants to rest.
  7. Under the midday sun, the sand becomes too hot and the dog can suffer painful burns on the pads and in the spaces between the toes. Moisten his paws every so often and at the end of the day remember to apply some moisturizer.
  8. Make sure he drinks water regularly:you can offer it to him or you can leave his water bowl nearby (AVOID GIVING SEA WATER).
  9. When you are back home, a bath with fresh waterwill help to remove salt and sand and will help to protect the skin and coat.

You are sure to enjoy the good weather with your dog. Always remember to keep him safe and watched at all times.
